My journey to YiYoga

YiYoga was found in 2016 during my yoga teacher training when pursuing my PhD of Biomedical Engineering, in order to support and foster the sense of mindfulness and peace in the surrounding community. I'm grateful to offer a variety of approaches to help other to achieve and improve the physical and mental wellbeing, as well as to provide a healing and friendly environment.

Born in the vibrant landscapes of East Asia, I started my yoga journey amidst the rich traditions that have nurtured this practice for centuries. With a deep respect for these roots, I have sought to expand my understanding and mastery of yoga across continents, earning certification in Asia during my college, and later in the USA during my PhD. This unique blend of Eastern philosophies and Western methodologies has allowed me to develop a holistic approach to teaching, one that nurtures both the body and the mind.


My practice is deeply rooted in the principles of mindfulness, which I believe is the cornerstone of a fulfilling yoga experience. By integrating mindfulness into each session, I aim to help people connect more deeply with themselves and the world around them, fostering a sense of peace and contentment that transcends the mat.


I specialize in Ashtanga, Vinyasa, and Yin yoga, offering a dynamic range of practices that cater to all levels of experience. From the powerful sequences of Ashtanga to the fluid movements of Vinyasa and the gentle harmony of Yin, my classes are designed to challenge, inspire, and soothe.


Beyond the mat, my life is deeply connected with science and education. As a university teacher and mentor in a research lab, I am intimately aware of the mental health challenges that permeate modern society. My commitment to our community is fueled by a firm belief that yoga transcends personal practice to become a collective journey. Through yoga, I aim to bring balance and understanding not only to our physical bodies but also to our communal spirit, helping us navigate life's complexities together. Through various initiatives and outreach, I strive to bring the benefits of yoga to those who might not otherwise have the opportunity to experience its transformative power.
